Falcon Crest

St. Helena, California

The Miravalle mansion, built by Tiburcio Parrott in 1885, is 140 years old. For almost a century and a half, this remarkable home has been an icon. A beautiful testament of late-19th century architecture, it is perhaps more famously known for its role in the 1980s TV series Falcon Crest. Today, it remains at the heart of every experience at the winery. Parrott began construction on his palatial residence with the help of Albert Schroepfer, architect. Miravalle, meaning "look valley," was designed to have panoramic views of Napa Valley from its fourth-floor tower and cupola. The mansion featured wraparound verandas, a conservatory, and exquisite details like stained glass cupids and Parrott’s initials over the massive front doors.

Vizcaya

Miami, Florida

Vizcaya is the former villa and estate of businessman James Deering, of the Deering McCormick-International Harvester fortune, on Biscayne Bay in the present-day Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, Florida. The early 20th-century Vizcaya estate also includes extensive Italian Renaissance gardens, native woodland landscape, and a historic village outbuildings compound.

The landscape and architecture were influenced by Veneto and Tuscan Italian Renaissance models and designed in the Mediterranean Revival architecture style, with Baroque elements. F. Burrall Hoffman was the architect. Mr. Hoffman was also the architect of Chateau Noel, Stonepine Estate in Carmel, California. FYI Stonepine is owned and operated by the Hentschel family.
